About

About

This race was the brainchild of two Ultrarunners during COVID, and after some deliberation it was started along the banks of Niagra Falls in 2023.

Originally 409* miles the course has been refined to a cool 420ish. With only a handful of starters year one and two this race is not for the weak of feet.

Luckily there are four distances to pick from, all with amazing locations to start.

420 racers will start with their back to Niagra Falls (any closer and you'll need a barrel)

226 racers will start along Lake Ontario

100ish racers will start with their feet touching Cranberry Lake

50 racers will start in the shadow of the Olympic ski jump complex in Lake Placid

All racers will cross the ADK mountains following the same route finishing near the home of Champy the Lake Monster.  Any racer who can capture Champy gets a free race for life.

, Regardless of distance racers will traverse on foot across the state on a designated route until they reach and touch the Samuel Champlain statue near Port Henry, NY.  There will be two categories for racers in the distances

1.Un- Afraid- self supported

2. Afraid- crewed racer

TOUR THE STATE OF NC-PAIN FREE?

Take part in the first race of its kind across the state of North Carolina.
Starting in Sparta racers will traverse self-supported across the entire state finishing at Jockey's Ridge State Park. Racers will have to rely on their own wits, logistics and sheer will to complete this event.

Racers will park in Waco, North Carolina at the residence of the race director. The parking is in a secured site that is monitored 24/7. Racers will load in vans/buses at 0500 and proceed to the Sparta post office where the race will start at 0700. Racers will have 336 hours/14 days to complete the distance. All racers will receive a custom finishers award and the ability to buy a finishers hoodie that only those who do the entire distance qualify for. This is a graduate level journey run. No refunds will be provided after registration and any racer who wishes to drop can sell their entry to another runner. Deferrals will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Racers that finish in Jockey's Ridge will be able to stay in a hotel near Nags Head (paid for as part of the entry) and will be shuttled every 24-36 hours back to their car. Racers who have a tight travel window can be shuttled as needed. Nags Head is a remote finishing location so cars will not be at the finish.
Race Pre-Start and Location: May 10, 2027, Arrive at 0500 in Waco, NC (address will be provided after registration)
Race Start: 10 May 2027 @ 0700 Sparta Post Office
Race Finish: Jockey's Ridge State Park entry Nags Head, NC no later than 24 May 2027 @ 0700
Time to complete the race: 336 hours/14 days
Cutoffs: Every 37 miles starting on 11 May. If you miss a cut off you will be given a warning. If you miss a second cutoff you will be pulled for your safety
Race Director/Race Team reserve the right to disqualify racers at any time for littering, riding in a car at any time, committing a crime, unsafe act or danger to the racer.

Understand that the weather in the North Carolina mountains can become cold and dangerous at times, the race team will monitor racers as much as possible and provide warming vehicles or safety measures as needed. This is however, your adventure and we will not interfere.
